Log Cabin Tavern
This restaurant was known for long wait periods for the order to be taken and the meal delivered. A menu was designed to give patrons something to read. The front is a composite of articles taken from several of the town's old Carlton Herald newspapers. The back side is a composite of miscellaneous advertisements. The inside spread is the actual menu and tavern events and special offers.
I visited the restaurant on a few occasions after delivery of the menus. They were a huge hit.
Silver Dollar Pizza
Tri-fold menu. The problem with the old menu was that the many categories blurred together on a single sheet of paper and was uninteresting due to lack of room for illustrations or photos. The owner wanted to maintain the paper size but make it easier on the eye. The obvious solution was in the use of fonts and borders after the restaurants old-time theme.
Hoyt St. Cafe
This restaurant opened in Portland's Pearl District with a limited menu offering. They wanted an upscale larger menu look that played on their name. Logo design and illustrations successfully met their need.
The Keg Restaurant
Their new Happy Hour menu needed to be pared down to five items so I gave them a new look in the process. After taking photos of the new items I got to eat the food. Tasted as good as it looks.
